OAU researchers win Prestigious IEEE Outstanding Paper Award in Pennsylvania




A paper written by three researchers in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering – Prof. Lawrence.O. Kehinde, Dr. Kayode.P. Ayodele, and Dr. Isaac.A. Inyang – has been adjudged one of the three outstanding papers published by the IEEE Transactions in Education in calendar year 2015. The paper, titled “An iLab for Teaching Advanced Logic Concepts with Hardware Descriptive Languages”, described the design and development of a remote laboratory which allowed students from anywhere in the world to conduct laboratory experiments on a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) device located in OAU. The studies, on which the paper was written, were conducted in Ile-Ife between 2012 and 2014, and provided scientific evidence of the effectiveness of iLabs as pedagogical tools. The award, which has never previously been won by African researchers, was presented at the IEEE Frontiers in Education conference at Erie, Pennsylvania on October 14, 2016.

The letter of the President, IEEE Education Society reads in part:

“As President of the IEEE Education Society, I am pleased to inform you that your IEEE Transactions on Education paper “An iLab for Teaching Advanced Logic Concepts With Hardware Descriptive Languages” has been judged by our selection committee as one of the three outstanding papers for Volume 58, calendar year 2015. We congratulate you for your outstanding research and for the resulting improvement it should lead to for engineering education around the world and in the future.”

OAU RELEASES FINAL LIST FOR 2017/2018 ADMISSIONS.

Friday, 12th January, 2018. By Olufemi Alfred .O.     In lieu of a recent publication by OAU KILONSHELE about the release of admissions list despite the strike, it has been gathered that Obafemi Awolowo University has submitted the final lists of admitted candidates to the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) on the 10th of January.     However, JAMB has began the uploading of the names on the Caps  section of the website as about 20 students have been confirmed by OAU KILONSHELE  to have been admitted      All candidates (Direct Entry and JAMB applicants)  , awaiting their names should log on to the JAMB website and check if they have been admitted.

OAU ADMISSIONS MERIT LIST UPLOADED ON JAMB WEBSITE.

      Few days ago, OAU KILONSHELE posted the release of Obafemi Awolowo University merit list for 2017/2018 admissions, it has been confirmed that some of the aspirants have seen their names on  JAMB's website.       Admission status can be viewed on the CAPS section of the website.           Below are the step by step procedures to access JAMB CAPS 1. Visit jamb.org.ng/efacility  preferably using a PC or chrome browser on mobile. 2. Login with the credentials( email and password) you created your jamb account with. 3. After successfully logging in, click on the options button ( the button with 3 dash) at the top of the page. 4. You'll see CAPS under the tag 'Admissions'. Click on it and you'll be taken to the CAPS page. 5. If the page only shows 'welcome', do not be discouraged. Just click on options on your mobile's browser and change the view of the page to 'desktop view'. This is why it's preferable to use a PC. 6.
