A C.E.O once asked, in a gathering of young students; How much would you loved to be paid when you start working? This question was embraced with lots of responses. Some concede with 700k, while some decides not to be too greedy, went for 500k and 300k . The C.E.O, though, not too astonished by their responses; triggered another question from it " since the company is willing to offer that much, what are you willing to offer in return? To his surprise, the noisy atmosphere was buried, and a graveyard silence took over. They, as a matter of fact, couldn't move an inche and buried their hands in the broken cup of their palms.
It's a matter of exigency that you Should ask yourself, is the company going to pay you because you have a B.SC , M.SC or because you decided to go to school? Will they choose to pay you thousands of naira and you can't make a single naira for them? This is a simple logic we should examine day by day.
Though our educational setting does support the fact that you should go for the A's but not the True knowledge behind it. It's a bitter experience that most of our institution doesn't value the reproduction of true knowledge but the WROTE skills. This had been the order of the day for times past; but, someone with a great forsight, who really wants something good for his future, needs to pitch his/her tent in an opposite directions, pays little attention to the grades but tries to drive in the exact knowledge that makes a man.
Gurus in whatever fields don't run after grades, because it's caves them, but they run after the dynamics of the knowledge, which makes them explore innumerable spheres of their areas.
Going to institution is good, but not enough as a distinctive feature. It's necessary to make up inner element that will separate you from other elements. As a young individual, either in school or outsider school, you need to go beyond your school curriculum or syllabus, if you really need to a have shot; not just a mere shot, but a shot on target.its imperative that you venture into lots of things, not for the Money, but the experience.
A lad once met with a theatre trainer and asked if he could be his apprentice. So ,the theater trainer asked the boy " Do you want to be Star or a Professional?" The boy replies wishing to be a star; then the trainer showed him the way out. The lad returned late in the evening to ask, why he was thrown out and the trainer replied " only your professionality can make you a true star." Don't ever run after the money, but run after the knowledge that makes money runs after you.
Further more, refuse a lateral style of reasoning, but always engage in a multidimensional mode of reasoning. You have to think wide and see beyond your nose. Employer don't hire personality who are dogmatic in reasoning, but they employ people who are dynamic, who see the positive and negative side of issue, pro-offer solutions, and even seek alternatives. Even as an entrepreneur in the making, sharping your psychic is of great importance. You should be able to disect the needs of the community, how to make a product to relieve them; which obviously won't exclude your marketing strategies and even your work men.
Similarly, enhancing your employment possibilities can also be triggered by the level of speech or any medium of communication.; Either verbal, written or sign language. Total rejection starts from the point of your wierdly constructed sentences in speech; same also with unnecessary abbreviations in writings. Trends also has it with the interjection of several slangs such as "as in, I'm like, is like, SE". All these and many more reduce our chances of being employed and make the panel questions that, can't people construct a straight sentence without unnecessary interjections?
In conclusion, our chances can be improved when we attend conferences and seminars that can spur us to action. Several of such programs are organized by different societies, where personalities and entrepreneurs are invited to plant some seeds in us, which we can only decide, if we really want it to germinate, and to what extent? Never be too engrossed with the principle of theories and literatures, but make out a practicality of everything.
