AN INTERVIEW SESSION WITH THE FINANCIAL SECRETARY OF THE STUDENTS' UNION.


can you please tell us your name for formality sake?

OMISAKIN: My name is omisakin kehinde the financial secretary of the union.

Can you tell us briefly about yourself and your background? 

OMISAKIN : I am from a family of seven, I am a twin and am from department of soil science under the faculty of agriculture.

We found out you have spent hundred days in office, can you please tell us your achievements since the inception of your administration as the financial secretary?

OMISAKIN: I aligned with the union executives to organise a trade fair for the new students so that they can be able to get the things the needed at a cheaper rate.

Sir, as the financial officer of the union how has the union been financing her programs as the president claimed money has is yet to be released to the administration?

OMISAKIN: When the freshers came in a lot of people questioned why the union had to collect union dues from the freshmen even when they had paid their tuition fee but the reality of it is that there is need for the union to write her budget and send it to the management before the union can be granted any form, so that was why the dues were collected from freshmen and the money was basically used for the freshmen's orientation but not all was used for the orientation, the remaing money is what the administration has been using for some little runnings.

How do you feel about the last congress and the released resolutions?

OMISAKIN: I believe it was a political setting, to some extent it was fair.

what is your take on the suspension of the speaker? 

OMISAKIN: I don't have anything to say about that


 A 14-seater bus was procured not quite long, what do you feel about this?

OMISAKIN: I will say it is becoming more of a saga! A lot of people doubt the bus was bought for 2.5m but I will like to tell you the bus is actually 2.5m, we are in the midst of intellectuals and its going to be very hard to deceive thousands of students, if anybody feels the bus was not up to the stated amount they can make their findings and if the prove otherwise, the union is ready to face the consequences.

Sir, can you clarify the source of the fund for the bus?

OMISAKIN: like we all know there was no union last session and students still pay the union due, what we did was that we requested for 3m from the management to get the bus and the management said if it is bus we want to buy they will give is and of which they did. Actually the total money from last session was 7.3m but we only requested for 3m

Can you please describe the present administration?

OMISAKIN: We are working together towards achieving the goals of the generality of the great I've students and not our personal interest.

what are you words to the great Ife students?

OMISAKIN: I am here to fight for the interest of the generality of Great Ife students and not my personal interest.u

OAU RELEASES FINAL LIST FOR 2017/2018 ADMISSIONS.

Friday, 12th January, 2018. By Olufemi Alfred .O.     In lieu of a recent publication by OAU KILONSHELE about the release of admissions list despite the strike, it has been gathered that Obafemi Awolowo University has submitted the final lists of admitted candidates to the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) on the 10th of January.     However, JAMB has began the uploading of the names on the Caps  section of the website as about 20 students have been confirmed by OAU KILONSHELE  to have been admitted      All candidates (Direct Entry and JAMB applicants)  , awaiting their names should log on to the JAMB website and check if they have been admitted.

OAU ADMISSIONS MERIT LIST UPLOADED ON JAMB WEBSITE.

      Few days ago, OAU KILONSHELE posted the release of Obafemi Awolowo University merit list for 2017/2018 admissions, it has been confirmed that some of the aspirants have seen their names on  JAMB's website.       Admission status can be viewed on the CAPS section of the website.           Below are the step by step procedures to access JAMB CAPS 1. Visit jamb.org.ng/efacility  preferably using a PC or chrome browser on mobile. 2. Login with the credentials( email and password) you created your jamb account with. 3. After successfully logging in, click on the options button ( the button with 3 dash) at the top of the page. 4. You'll see CAPS under the tag 'Admissions'. Click on it and you'll be taken to the CAPS page. 5. If the page only shows 'welcome', do not be discouraged. Just click on options on your mobile's browser and change the view of the page to 'desktop view'. This is why it's preferable to use a PC. 6.
