Following NUC's Directive, OAU Shuts Down Academic Activities
Damola Badmos The management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife has decided to shut down the campus in lieu of the approaching 2023 general elections. This release is coming after an earlier made statement by the National Universities Commission that all Federal government Institutions should embark on a three-week break for the approaching elections. In a statement obtained by OAU KILONSHELE and signed by the Registrar of the institution, Mrs. M.I Omosule, the University and Inter-University centres should embark on a break from 22nd February, 2023 to 11th March 2023. According to the release, "Following the directive from the National Universities Commission (NUC), the Senate of the University at its special meeting held on Wednesday, 15th February 2023 has directed that the University be shut down from Wednesday, 22nd February to Tuesday, 14th March 2023.
