OAU VC Says Institution Will Incorporate Entrepreneurship into Academic Curricular

The Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, ile-ife, Osun State, said that the University will incorporate entrepreneurship into her academic curricular.
This was made known by the university's Vice Chancellor, Professor Eyitayo Ogunbodede, while addressing the Students at the First Bank entrepreneurial mindset program yesterday.
The Vice Chancellor stated that the university will incorporate entrepreneurship fully into the university academic curricular activities as a result of the annual First Bank entrepreneurial mindset program.
"Arising from this program (First Bank program), we have decided in the university that we would incorporate entrepreneurship fully into our university curriculum."
"Our earlier discussion with her (organisers) was that we will have a 3 day programme for the university but we decided that entrepreneurship must be incorporated into our curriculum."
He also stressed that the University committee of Deans are working assiduously to ensure this come into fruition stating that the necessary facilities for the incorporation of the entrepreneurial program are being taken into cognisance.
"The committee of Deans are working together (on incorporating Entrepreneurship) and we have taken an inventory of all the facilities the university will need and what we can use. Also for those in engineerin, we are putting up some buildings for them as workshop."
Furthermore, he stated the importance of this programme that it will empower the student to be independent instead of searching for employment after graduation.
"So that at the end of the day, after graduating from Obafemi Awolowo University, we would not only have helped you define your vision - we will also be able to equip you with the resources that will enable you to stand on your own," he said
However, when the entrepreneurship program will be incorporated was not made known by the Vice Chancellor.
