THE APPALING STATE OF EDUCATION IN NIGERIA. by Abdulwaheed Oladeji

“The future of a great nation is in the hands of its youth” - anonymous.  I will like to add my own   “the future of a great nation resides in the hands of its youth but depends more on the type of training being given to her youths.”     In Nigeria, the education sector of the nation is actually what we can refer to as the worst of all sectors in the country and this is as a result of the poor quality of education being administered to its youth. Starting from primary education to tertiary education, the federal government of Nigeria has failed in investing in the nation’s future.     Using OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY(OAU) as a case study, the university dwells in its lost glory and it pains me whenever I see my fellow students shout GREAT IFE and leaves me with the question where is the greatness they are shouting of? .     Ranging from the dilapidated structures the institution as such has lecture theatres which I have decided to call 'prison' because a 150 capaci
